How To Check Assembly Election Results 2021

The results of the Assembly Elections in the five states of  West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam and Pondicherry will be declared on May 2. The counting of votes will start at 8 AM. The Election Commission, this time, has announced strict guidelines due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The poll body has restricted the entry of polling agents inside the counting centers. People who will be admitted inside counting centers must have an RT-PCR test certificates or two doses of vaccination against Covid. Elections were held in the five states, starting late March in several rounds and voting for the final phase in West Bengal took place on April 29.

With only hours left to answer the question of who will rule Kerala for the next five years, Chief Electoral Officer Tikaram Meena explained the preparations for the counting of votes. He clarified that this time there will be a delay in the release of the results. The delay is due to the high number of postal votes. He added that the first indications would be received by 10 p.m.

Tikaram Meena assured that there would be no disputes in the postal vote. This time there is no help from Trent software. However, the Chief Electoral Officer said that arrangements have been made to reach the results quickly and the officials have been given proper training.

Unlike the previous Assembly and Lok Sabha elections, the results of this Assembly election are not known in advance. The counting of votes will begin at 8 a.m. Sunday, but the results will be delayed. This is because postal votes take time to count. The first signs begin to appear after 8:30 in the morning.

So far, 4,54,237 postal votes have been counted. Postal ballots are due by Sunday morning. It is estimated that it takes 40 seconds to count a ballot. Postal votes are crucial for those with a slim majority in the EVM. Disputes are more likely to occur and enumeration is prolonged.

Votes in the EVM will be counted in an hour or an hour and a half, but it will be at least four o'clock to announce the results as the postal vote count will be delayed. Chief Electoral Officer Tikaram Meena said the results will be available as the counting progresses at election commission website mentioned below.

More than five lakh postal votes were distributed. This is the first time in the history of the state. The postal ballot was received by 2,96,691 people over the age of 80. A total of 51,711 dissidents and 601 covid victims registered to vote by post.

Postal voters include more than two lakh polling officials and 32,633 emergency service personnel. As of April 28, the returning authorities had received 4.5 million postal votes.
