The COVID-19 vaccine is now available for all adult citizens in the country above the age of 18 years, but getting a slot is proving to be quite difficult for and turning into a game of fastest finger first. Free online tools to find out when vaccine slots are updated are gaining popularity. It is not practical to always check the portal as the update takes place several times. The advantage of such tools is that slot update information can be accessed via email and telegram app, provided by district or zip code. How does it work?
We use a script to poll the CoWIN API for different districts and when it finds a new vaccination slot, it automatically sends an alert to the respective Telegram Channel.
To receive the alerts, install the Telegram app from Google Play/ App Store and then click on the links provided when you select the district where you are looking to get vaccinated.
Separate telegram channels have been set up for each city to telegram any information that slots are open nearby. It works using the application programming interface (API) on the Covin portal.
These websites are not official websites created by the government but by individuals. These websites will only notify you of an open slot. You ultimately have to register and book a slot on the government's CoWIN portal or Aarogya Setu app to get the vaccine dose.
How to use Under45.in?
Using Under45.in is quite simple; all you need to do is head over to the site and choose the Telegram notification option on the bottom
Once done, you need to go under the State and District options.
There you will be able to spot another similar page with State and District options.
Just enter your State and District details.
Now, you will be redirected to a channel that is specific to your districts. This channel or a group helps you to know details about slot availability data such as which centre has available slots, the number of slots available, and the availability date.
